Welcome to the Cedarburg High School Class of 1988. Every year we get a little older and build up our resume of "We used to be " statements. Even if you aren't a CHS '88er stay in touch with our class. See you soon.

Less than 24 hours since being sent out via Facebook and the 130 non-rejected emails on file we have 25 surveys completed.  I’m not going to divulge the most popular responses until we have 50 completed.  Let’s just say a common theme is to KISS the event.  (Keep It Simple Stupid.)  90% have mandated a happy hour the evening before the actual reunion.  I’m shocked.

A successful reunion depends on getting bodies there.  The committee has all the hard work done at this point–now we need to get people there.  Please look at the list of classmates on the “find our classmates” page and check the status of those you are in contact with.  Please reach out to them, share this site with them and have them click on the “find our classmates” page so we can get them updated.

An updated list of our class and each person’s status will be posted soon and updated monthly.

Thanks!

That’s right kids.  This marks 30 years since any of us went to prom, smoked in the now-gone smokers’ cage, got detention, learned how Henry VIII’s wives died and in what order, sang “Boom Chicka Boom” with Thabo or watched Freddy Boy destroy opponents on the football field.

Since then, Facebook has taken over the world, other classes have replicated our format for our reunion (charitable interest, Cedarburg Cultural Center, Tomaso’s) and we are all closing in on 50.  Sadly, last year we lost Keith Anderson.  This begins our process of getting together to share pictures and stories of our kids, spouses, ex-spouses and even (gulp) grandkids.  So are you ready to do this again?

There’s some things that will need your input.  When should we do it?  Where should it be held?  Food options?  Live music again?  Friday night event?  Saturday morning golf?  Should beer be served?  Simply mirror everything from the 20th or 25th?  Scrap the whole thing?  We will all have our AARP cards at the 35th, so maybe this is too much of a reality to share in a group setting.

A planning committee will be formed very soon.  Another SurveyMonkey will be sent out to gather your collective thoughts and narrow down potential dates, locations and formats.  The Facebook page will be updated frequently as will this website.  So for now, please click on the “find our classmates” page and enter your contact information.  And of course, share this page with all of our fellow classmates.  In the “comment” section of the form please feel free to add names and emails of anyone that you have.

Updates will be frequent, topical and the highlight of your day.  Stay tuned, be in touch and stay healthy.  I’ll take care of the rest.

Chris Smith
